My stay at Residences Universite Laval was a mixed bag. While the front desk staff were friendly and the residence's location is great with easy bus access to Old Quebec City, I found the room to be quite uncomfortable. The air conditioning was noisy, the sofa bed was unbearable, and there were cleanliness issues in the shared bathrooms.

Rooms
6.0
The room was dated and cramped, featuring a queen bed and a sofa bed that was uncomfortable. I appreciated the amenities like a mini fridge and a coffee maker, but the lack of proper air conditioning made it stuffy and noisy, especially during the heat wave.
Service
5.0
The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful, available 24/7. However, I experienced long wait times during check-in, which was frustrating.
Location
7.0
The residence is nestled in a peaceful area with plenty of greenery and is within walking distance to a mall. It’s also convenient for accessing Old Quebec City, though a bus strike affected transportation during my stay.
Dining
5.0
While there’s a kitchen available for guests, you need to bring your own cooking utensils. Dining options on-site were limited, with no breakfast provided.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities included a large kitchen in the basement that I didn't get to utilize since it was lacking essential cooking tools, along with shared bathrooms that could definitely use some upgrades.

5.4/10

My stay at the Residences Université Laval was a mixed experience. While the location was convenient, close to a big mall and public transport options (when they weren't striking), the comfort left much to be desired, particularly with the sofa bed. The cleanliness was satisfactory, but the air conditioning issue during a heat wave affected my overall comfort significantly.

Rooms
6.0
I spent three nights in a superior room with a queen bed and a sofa bed. While my friends found the queen bed comfortable, the sofa bed was a different story—uncomfortable with springs digging into me. The room was clean enough but needed some updates, especially in the bathroom.
Service
6.0
The front desk staff were friendly and available 24/7. They were helpful, which I appreciated, but there were some hiccups during check-in that could be improved, like a long wait.
Location
7.0
The location was very good, just a short walk to a shopping mall and public transport (though I had to Uber due to a bus strike). It was nice being in an area surrounded by greenery and paths.
Dining
5.0
I utilized the kitchen in the basement during my stay but had to bring everything I needed to cook. Dining options on campus were available, and there were gluten-free dishes in the cafeteria.
Facilities
5.0
While there are some helpful facilities like a microwave, mini fridge, and a communal kitchen in the basement, the lack of air conditioning and no elevator (which made lugging luggage a pain) were major drawbacks.

5.4/10

My stay at Residences Université Laval had its ups and downs. The location was great, being surrounded by greenery and close to a shopping mall, but the lack of air conditioning made it really uncomfortable during the heat wave. The staff were friendly and accommodating, which I appreciated, but the room itself felt cramped, and the sofa bed was a disaster. Overall, it may suit someone looking for budget-friendly accommodation, but I wouldn't recommend it for a cozy getaway.

Rooms
6.0
The room was clean but cramped, particularly with the sofa bed out. While the queen bed was reportedly comfortable, my sofa bed experience was painful due to old springs. The bathroom needs an upgrade, too.
Service
8.0
The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and available 24/7, which I found very reassuring throughout my stay.
Location
7.0
The residence is located in a lovely area surrounded by trees and close to a mall. It's a bit out from city attractions but not too far for a quick ride to Old Quebec City.
Dining
5.0
I didn’t explore the dining options much aside from the cafeteria, but breakfast was mentioned at $8 and I heard about a dépanneur nearby for quick snacks.
Facilities
5.0
The shared kitchen in the basement could be a great feature, though you need to bring your own cooking utensils. Just be warned about the noise from the portable air conditioner that we eventually had to use.

6.0/10

My stay at Residences Université Laval was a mixed bag. The location was fantastic for accessing downtown Quebec City, but the room left much to be desired. I struggled with an uncomfortable sofa bed and the absence of proper air conditioning. While the staff were friendly and the common areas were decent, the amenities felt rather sparse overall.

Rooms
6.0
I spent 3 nights in a superior room shared with friends. The queen bed was comfortable, but I suffered on the sofa bed, which was quite old and painful. The room was clean but could use some upgrades, particularly the bathroom. The provided portable air conditioner was too noisy to use effectively during the heat wave, and it wasn't effective enough overall.
Service
6.0
The front desk staff were friendly and available around the clock, which was a relief given my late-night check-in. However, the check-in process could be smoother, as I had to wait a while in line upon arrival.
Location
8.0
The residence is well-placed, just a brief bus ride from Old Quebec City and a short walk to a large shopping mall. With everything so accessible, I appreciated the convenience even though a bus strike forced me to rely on Uber.
Dining
5.0
I found the dining facilities somewhat lacking; the communal kitchen required me to bring my own cooking supplies and utensils. Limited dining options were available, and I struggled with some basic daily needs due to that.
Facilities
6.0
The amenities were a mix of useful and underwhelming. There were good kitchen facilities in the basement, but I had to supply everything myself. The laundry situation could also improve as it wasn’t very accommodating.

6.2/10

My stay at Residences Universite Laval was a mixed bag. The room was decent enough and clean, but I had a tough time with the sofa bed, which was far from comfortable. The lack of proper air conditioning made it unbearable during the heat wave, although the friendly staff and convenient location did add some positives to my experience. 🌡️😅

Rooms

I stayed in a superior room with a queen bed and a sofa bed. The queen bed was comfortable, but the sofa bed was horrible—like an old style with springs poking me. The bathroom could use some upgrades. Overall, the room was clean. However, it felt cramped with little room to move around, especially with the sofa bed out.
Service
8.0
The front desk staff were really friendly and available 24/7, which I appreciated. They were accommodating when I asked questions, and their helpfulness was definitely a highlight of my stay.
Location

Located within walking distance to a big mall and surrounded by greenery, the residence is also just a short bus ride to Old Quebec City. Unfortunately, we had a bus strike during our stay, so I had to rely on Uber, but the prices were reasonable.
Dining
5.0
There was a large kitchen in the basement for cooking, but I had to bring my own pots and pans, which was a little inconvenient. I didn't try the breakfast option since I heard it wasn't available during my stay.
Facilities
5.0
The portable air conditioner was noisy, and we had to turn it on due to the heat wave. Some rooms had no fans or proper air conditioning, which was disappointing, especially in summer.
